Sustainability at Inch House Ireland

Our Green Initiatives:

The property electricity, hot water and electric car charger is run mostly off our 20 plus solar panel's and storage batteries.

The property uses biodegradable compostable cups and lids.
Only 100% compostable eco-friendly straws are used on site.

All our toilets are single flush systems which reduces the amount of water used.

Sensor lights are installed in hallways and communal areas along with energy efficient light bubbles and LED’s.

We are part of the national pollination plan of ireland

We use board na mona recycling facilities.

One use bottles are not used at Inch House and removed most outdoor lighting is censored to avoid light pollution.
The property’s purchasing policy is to buy local where possible and choose suppliers who will take back their packaging for re-use.
Similarly, the property could work with eco-mattresses on a paid basis to remove all old mattresses to recycle the various components.
All employees are trained to reduce, re-use and recycle to protect the environment. We have a dedicated Green Team.
Guests and visitors can help by using the recycling bins in the corridors.
The property has now an electric car charger.
We support biodiversity; there’s an insect Inch House Ireland in the garden. Watch out for our smallest ‘staff’ in our lovely garden. The ladybirds on our roses are helping with pest control. We prefer to use natural methods.

What can you do?

Finished your book?
Leave it for someone else in our Free Library and help yourself to another. Settle down in front of the fire. We burn real Irish turf, a natural, sustainable fuel in our original 17th century fireplace.

Use our board na mona recycling facilities and read our signage to learn how to recycle properly.
